Who is IDPSIG?
Intrinsically disordered protein scientific interest group (IDPSIG) is a grass-roots organization that was formed in 2017 by postdoctoral trainees at Stanford University and Carnegie Institution for Science. The original mission of our group was to foster and facilitate interdisciplinary interactions among Carnegie and Stanford early career researchers (ECRs) that study or have interests in the behavior and functions of intrinsically disordered proteins. To achieve this, IDPSIG members would gather to present their research ideas and scientific findings every first Thursday of the month, and engage in valuable discussions that lead to new concepts, ideas, and experiments relating to IDPs.
In the wake of COVID19, ECRs have lost nearly all avenues to showcase their work. IDPSIG has, therefore, begun hosting virtual meetings in order to bolster the voices of promising ECRs and promote cohesion within the IDP community. If you would like to hear more about our group or are interested in joining, please email [email protected].
